Karon L. Penner (Kuffner) June 21, 1944 – October 16, 2016 Our hearts are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Karon L. Penner on October 16, 2016. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunty, cousin and friend, she will be sorely missed. Predeceased by her parents, John and Mary Kuffner of Indian Head, and siblings Thomas Kuffner and Sharon Kopp. Karon is survived by her loving husband Stan, her son Mitchell Penner, grandchildren Kaitlyn and Kevin Penner and daughter Karstan (Jim) Wiebe and grandchildren Sheyenne and Austin Wiebe. Karon is also survived by 5 brothers and sisters: Bernice Blair, Marie Fedoroff, Henry Pellitier, John (Marg) Kuffner, Jean (Lloyd) Thompson and brother-in-law Les Kopp. Along with their families and many relatives including numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Karon was born in Balcarres, Sask. She spent her childhood years in the Katepwa Valley, with the family later moving to Indian Head where she attended school and graduated high school. She married her sweetheart Stan Penner, and they began their many years together in Regina. After moving from Regina they became longtime residents of Bethune and later Saskatoon. Karon and Stan spent many years enjoying camping, canoeing, fishing and spending time at many beaches and parks with their children, family and friends. You could always find a few brothers, sisters and their children tagging along! She was especially fond of windshield tours of North America's bountiful landscape and abundant wildlife. Karon was an avid seamstress, costume maker for every occasion, and a skating and hockey mom. She loved to cook and bake and was an excellent gardener. She has grown many beautiful flowers throughout her life! She loved her pets and all kinds of animals from little white mice to fish and birds along with many cats and dogs, especially her little Shmoo! She had a very close relationship with her family and she will always be loved and dearly missed by all. The Celebration of Karon's life will take place on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Prairie View Chapel on Hwy. 11 south of Saskatoon at Prairie View Road. Special thanks to Karon's Doctor's and the Staff at Oliver Lodge Special Care Home. Arrangements in care of Prairie View Crematorium.
