KOSTIUK, John On Easter Sunday morning, April 16, 2017, John passed away with his wife and daughters by his side at the age of 88. John will be forever missed and remembered by his loving wife Glenna of 56 years; children, Dianna (Barry), Jim, and Allison (Brent); precious grandchildren, MacKenzie, Sarah, Cooper, Grady and Julienne; brother Steve; sister Helen; as well as numerous family and friends. Predeceased by brothers; Tom and Peter, sisters; Sophie and Olga, and his parents; Roman and Tillie. John was born and raised in St. Michael area, he worked for CN as a locomotive engineer for 35 years. John farmed his whole life and upon retirement returned to full-time farming north of the St. Michael- Peno area of Lamont County. John was always hardworking and loved spending time on his farm where he loved to restore old antiques and work on his machinery. It has been said that he could fix anything with a piece of wire and binder twine. John and Glenna spent many happy winters in Clearwater, Florida where they would relax and cherish time spent with friends. John enjoyed golf and they loved when their children and grandchildren came to visit. A Celebration of John's Life will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home at 16204 Fort Road, Edmonton, AB. A private family interment will be held in the summer. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society.
