ROBSON-TIMMERMANS, Harriet Elsye In the early morning of October 11, 2016, Harriet passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at home of natural causes. Harriet leaves behind her loving husband of over 40 years Mient, her daughter Christina, her sons Michael and Matthew, son-in-law Steve Bulgin (Twillingate), grandsons Joshua and Jonah and granddaughter Jordyn. Harriet also leaves behind brothers Tim (Winnipeg) and Richard (Edmonton) as well as many nephews, nieces and cousins throughout North America. She was preceded by her sister Glenda (Thunder Bay) and her parents. Harriet was born in Kenora in 1953 and lived in Whitehorse and Edmonton before moving to Kanata and completing high school at Sir Robert Borden (class of 1970). Harriet graduated from St. Vincent' Hospital Nursing Program in Ottawa in 1972 and spent her early career as an RNA. She started working at the Perley and Rideau Veterans Health Centre in 1986, attended the Long Term Care Rehabilitation Assistant program at Algonquin College in 1995 and finished her career as a Rehabilitation and Occupational Therapy Assistant, retiring from the Perley-Rideau in 2013. She will be fondly remembered by many colleagues and residents. Harriet also devoted much of her time to volunteering in various capacities. A Celebration of Life service for Harriet will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2016, at 3:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army Ottawa Citadel church (1350 Walkley Road Ottawa, K1V 6P6). There will be a light reception following. In lieu of flowers/cards/gifts, donations in Harriet's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
