In memory of
PARSONS, Gordon Desmond July 18, 1928 - September 27, 2016 It is with heavy hearts and gratitude for his life that we announce the passing of our beloved Gordon, September 27 at Minoru Residence, Richmond with his loving wife Sheila at his side. Predeceased by brothers Eric, Geoff and Oliver. Mourning him deeply are his wife, Sheila; children, Jeff and Julie; his beloved grandchildren, Max, Tyler (Catherine), Hunter, Ben and Susan (Brady); his beautiful great- grandchildren, Kaison, Joshua, Lily and Baby Stephanie (Stevie); sister, Pat Elliott; sisters-in-law, Agnes (Snooks) Sorrenti and Dorothy Goring; as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends. Gordon was born to Frank and Stella Parsons (deceased) in Vancouver on July 18, 1928. Gordon's love of music and his beautiful baritone voice led him, in his teens, to study opera. Gord became a member of the Vancouver Opera Association and also sang with the Bach Choir, Theatre Under the Stars and at many other musical venues in the Lower Mainland. Gord had a warm and friendly personality and a good sense of humour. Very much the gentleman...Gordon spent many successful years in pharmaceutical and hospital product sales, employed by a large national pharmaceutical company. He was also managing partner of the Lakeside Resort Hotel near Vernon, BC and, while living in the Okanagan, he enjoyed skiing with family and friends. As well, he liked to spend time fishing and golfing. Gordon enjoyed volunteer driving for the SOS until he was unable to do so due to failing vision. In earlier years, he was also an active volunteer for the Vancouver and Provincial SPCA. The family would like to thank the support and care given to Gord by the devoted and friendly staff at Minoru Residence. Special thanks to Dr. Robert McKenzie, we are grateful beyond words for the dedication and care given to Gordon over the years. No service by request. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Gord's memory to the CNIB, Canuck Place Hospice, or charity of your choice would be appreciated. Those who trust in the Lord for help Will find their strength renewed. They will rise on wings like eagles; They will run and not get weary; They will walk and not grow weak, and They will see... Isaiah 40:1 Till we meet again dear Gord You are always in my heart, Sheila
