GENEVIEVE AGNES (GRENIER) McDONALD
GENEVIEVE AGNES McDONALD (nee GRENIER) Aged 88, of Mississauga, Ontario, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2017. Genevieve was born in Matheson, Ontario on June 3, 1928. Shortly thereafter she moved to Noranda, Quebec where she lived the majority of her life. Genevieve was married and raised her four children in Noranda before following her children to Mississauga, Ontario in 1995. In Mississauga, Genevieve was actively involved in volunteer work at Armagh House for many years. Genevieve was also President of the Young at Heart Senior Club and Vice President of the Clarkson Community Social Club. Genevieve is survived by her children Marc, Alan, Glen and Nicole McDonald, daughters-in- law Maureen and Karen and son-in-law Ken, as well as her grandchildren Katherine, Emily, Leah and Kaitlin McDonald. Genevieve is also survived by her sister-in-law Alma Grenier of Noranda, nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents Horace and Katherine Grenier, her former spouse Orville McDonald, her brothers Gilbert and Philip Grenier and her sister Kathleen Cuthbertson. Most recently, Genevieve was also preceded in death by her dear sister Lois Gillis and trusted brother-in-law David Gillis, cherished aunt and uncle to Marc, Alan, Glen and Nicole. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada. The family of Genevieve Agnes McDonald wishes to thank the Queensway Trillium Hospital and her many friends, for their caring, warmth and shared support. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., January 16, 2017 at St. Christopher's Roman Catholic Church, 1171 Clarkson Road North, Mississauga, Ontario, with Father Scott Young Pastor officiating.
