MONTEITH, Frederick: Frederick Arthur Monteith passed away peacefully on October 12, 2016 at the age of 87 years. He is remembered and sadly missed by his loving partner Betty McNicol, son Gordon (Subrina) of Kaleden, three grandchildren; Saphyre Monteith age 16, Jocelyn Monteith age 9, and Madalyn Monteith age 7, and his brother John E. (Ed) Monteith (Beverly) of Sooke. Frederick was sadly predeceased by his loving wife Mary Janet Monteith, and his parents, Harold and Helen Monteith. His love of life and people touched the lives of all who knew him, and he was well loved for his humour, generous spirit, and compassion. Frederick loved aviation, his family, especially his granddaughters, gardening, curling, traveling, and wine. He spent 25 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force before retiring as a Flight Lieutenant (Captain). He then had successful careers in real estate, and retail sales before retiring in 1993 and moving to the Okanagan. In retirement he volunteered for many years with the Federal Superannuates National Association (FSNA), the RCMP Citizen Patrol, and the Royal Canadian Air Force Association - 890 Wing Executive. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 20, 2016 at 1:00 pm, Reverend Laura Turnbull officiating, at Providence Funeral Homes, 1258 Main Street, Penticton, BC, V2A 5G1, followed by a reception at the Air Force Association Wing 890, 126 Dakota Ave, Penticton, BC, V2A 8X1.
