WILSON, Eileen Dorothy (Buttler) January 15, 1925 - December 22, 2016 We remember, with love, our Mom Eileen Wilson, who passed on December 22, 2016, at 91 years of age. Mom was blessed to have several special family visits and phone calls in her last days and passed peacefully with her daughter Sheila at her bedside. A special Thank You to all the staff at Trillium Lodge, in Parksville for treating her with care and compassion during this time and helping her make the adjustment to Residential Care during the past year. Eileen was predeceased by her husband Douglas, her mother and father, her 2 older brothers Lance and Raymond, as well as many other relatives and dear friends. She is survived by her brother Bob (Kay), as well as her 5 children: Diane (Rob), Ken (Judy), Michael (Janet), Sheila (Dave), Marilyn (Doug), 10 grandchildren: Douglas, Heather (Michael), Lisa, Chelsea, Scott, Megan, Adam (Shannon), Jason, Amanda, Graeme, and 2 great-granddaughters Jenna and Michelle, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mom was very proud of all her family and was often heard boasting of their many accomplishments over the years. Mom had many interests including her church, seniors' group activities, reading and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed her times outdoors walking at the beach and, before moving to her condo, working in her garden reaping the rewards of the fresh produce and flowers. She enjoyed baking and, until only the last few years, always had homemade butter tarts and apple pies in her freezer. She loved visits with friends and family and the kettle was always on for tea served in a china cup and saucer with a biscuit or two. Although Mom had lived almost 60 years in Victoria, she loved the Muskoka Lake area in Ontario where she had grown up and most of her family remained. She visited many times, always referring to it as "home", and we were treated to fond stories of the "olden days" on several occasions. Mom appreciated all the friends and neighbours that helped her over the many years and treasured those relationships, so thank you everyone on her behalf. We love you Mom "A Bushel and a Peck and a Hug around the Neck" There will be a Memorial Service held at St. John the Divine Anglican Church, at 1611 Quadra Street, Victoria, B.C. at 1:30 pm on Saturday, January 28, 2017. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Salvation Army, or a charity of your choice.
