In memory of
Douglas William (Bill) Heritage
Douglas William (Bill) Heritage May 26, 1938 - October 3, 2016 Bill gently passed away on Monday October 3rd surrounded by the love of his family after a 23 year battle with Parkinson's disease. Bill was a dedicated family man known for his kindness, great sense of humour and quick smile. Bill had many interests, but it was his love of golf in particular that brought him great joy, sharing many happy times with family and friends. Bill and his life partner Marion enjoyed over 56 years of marriage, having met as teenagers at Burnaby North High School. The pair settled in Burnaby and focused their attention on their two children Cathie and Russell (Shona), and later their three grandchildren Braden, Siobhan, and Grace, who affectionately called him 'Bobo'. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Douglas & Florrie, and his brother Mick. He was very close to his parents and his brother. We take solace in knowing they are all together (hopefully they have better luck with the fish in heaven!). Bill spent 33 years at BC Hydro where he made many life-long friends. Bill loved life and he bravely faced a diagnosis of Parkinson's disease. His determination was an inspiration to all who knew him. We are forever indebted to the staff of Carleton Gardens during the last, and most difficult years of Dad's life. Words cannot express our gratitude for the care you gave him. In lieu of flowers or donations please visit a relative, friend or acquaintance in a Care Home or Hospital. Bill always gave the gift of his time to those around him. He would be honoured if you would do the same in his memory. There will be no service as per Bill's wishes. We love you and will miss you. You will be forever in our hearts.
