ROBERTS, Dennis Trevor Dennis (aka Jim) passed peacefully at the age of 93, on October 6th, 2016 in the Craigdarroch Care Home, with his daughters by his side. Born to Anne Roberts (nee Banks) and Thomas Roberts on September 8th, 1923, in Weymouth, England. Predeceased by his wife, Ailsa in 2012. He leaves behind his sister, Doris Furzer, Toronto; three children, Jane Christison (Mac), Susan Roberts (John) and Peter Roberts (Hope); six grandchildren, David Christison (Kim), Brie Leong (Lawrence), Sharlet Strandland (Sonny), Christopher Koniczek (Holly) and twins, Sarah and Sophia Koniczek; five great-grandchildren, Ashley and Bradley Christison, Summer and Piper Strandland and Nico Leong. Following graduation from Weymouth Central Boys School, Dennis was employed by the Weymouth Corporation electricity department. During the 2nd World War, Dennis enlisted in the Royal Air Force where, by the age of 20, he had earned his wings and later the rank of Flight Lieutenant. While taking advanced bomber training in Canada, he met and married Ailsa in Victoria B.C. in 1945 and returned to England. In 1947, after the war, Dennis and Ailsa with their infant daughter Jane, immigrated to Canada, to reside in Victoria. Dennis made a career in the electrical business and became a partner in the company Mawson Gage and Associates, electrical contractors. Dennis always had a joke to tell and became known as the KitKat man enjoying handing them out. AIways cheerful with a happy disposition, he loved his family and friends and travel with Ailsa, and their summer place at Shawnigan Lake. He will be greatly missed. Many thanks to the staff at the Craigdarroch Care Home who were wonderful to him. A celebration tea will be held on October 16 2016, at 2PM. Location, Cedar Hill Golf Course, 1400 Derby Rd.
