BOREN, Beverley Ann February 1, 1948 – October 12, 2016 The – (dash) between the years of Bev's birth and her death were filled with meaningful and satisfied living. Having lived a full and rewarding life, Bev passed away very peacefully on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 in the Palliative Unit of the General Hospital, where she received wonderful and compassionate end of life care from the entire staff. A valued friend to many in a variety of circles of friends, Bev was a twin, born to Bert and Ellen Boren. She was predeceased by her parents and her twin sister Barbara Ellen. She is survived by, and will live on in the hearts of her nephews Christopher Terry and Cameron Terry, her cousins Connie Landstrom and Kel (Norma) Landstrom, Jack (Edith) Swanson, Glenn Swanson, Joanne (Al) Frisk, Gary and Ken Kroening. In her youth, Bev was encouraged by example to give back to her community. This influence resulted in her graduating from the U of A Hospital School of Nursing as a RN and later receiving her BScN from the U of A. She enjoyed a very satisfying 40 year career in a variety of nursing settings. She was especially proud of her nearly 25 years as a nurse at the U of A Hospital. As a nurse, making life easier and better for others was her passion. She lovingly helped many in their health needs, and she was brave and strong when faced with her own illness. So it was no surprise that Bev valued every last moment of life after her diagnosis. She had so much to live for and she was an inspiration of courage, hope, laughter, and love for life. Bev completed her life as she lived it, with strength, courage, and dignity. We will remember her young-at-heart spirit, her humour, faith, generosity and infectious laugh. A celebration of Bev's life will be held at Hosanna Lutheran Church, 9009 163 Street at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October 21 with Pastor Anna Thede and Pastor James Hendricksen officiating. Since Bev believed strongly in investing in the next generation, in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Bev's memory to her beloved church (Hosanna Lutheran), designated to the Youth Ministry.
