JOHNSTON, Audrey (nee Nicholas) 1937 - 2016 Audrey Johnston passed away October 10, 2016, she was born in St. Chads, Grays Essex England January 30, 1937. Audrey attended Palmers Girls School and graduated from Thurrock Technical College in Accountancy, after which she enlisted in the WRAF training as a Fighter Plotter at Bentley Priory, Stanmore Park, Middlesex, England. On completion of her service she then immigrated to Canada in 1959 and married John whom she met whilst serving in the Royal Air Force. Audrey worked in Toronto, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan then moved Vancouver, BC working for the Allumini Association at UBC. On moving to Victoria she worked for the Victoria Conservatory of Music and finally with the legal firm of Cook Roberts and Whittaker from 1980 retiring in 2001. Audrey was predeceased by her parents Frederic Charles and Helen Nicholas (nee Harvey). She leaves behind her husband John and her two sons Ian and Paul (Chris) and her brother Frederic and sister Pauline in England, with a large extended family her in Canada and in the U.K. "There is a Nest in our Hearts filled with Love for you Audrey" There will be a Memorial Service in the Lady Chapel at Christ Church Cathedral at 12:00 Noon on Friday, October 21, 2016. No flowers please...a donation may be made to a charity of your choice. Cremation has taken place.
