In memory of
Arlene Malanchuk June 3, 1935 - February 8, 2017 Arlene has left to dance with her one true love, Al, once again. Her full life of 81 years, began in a two room sod farmhouse outside of Rosthern, Saskatchewan, where her parents, Mike and Pauline Chipurda, instilled their work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. She met Al and moved to Regina, where they raised an active family and built a thriving business, NIS Contractors. After 35 years, Al and Arlene retired to White Rock, BC where they continued a busy life of travel, hiking, and proudly cheering on their grandchildren. She enjoyed her last few years playing bingo and the monthly casino outings offered at the Pacifica Retirement Residence. Arlene passed away peacefully with family by her side. Arlene was predeceased by her devoted husband and partner of 55 years, Albert, and their son James. She is survived by her daughter Autumn (Gord) and son Lyle (Jessie) in Hong Kong. Grandma will be greatly missed by Megan and Kim Scraper, James and Georgia Malanchuk, and by her dear brother Vern Chipurda. A celebration of Arlene's life will be held this July in Regina, Saskatchewan. Cremation services provided by Valley View Funeral Home, Surrey, BC. Friends are invited to sign an online book of condolences at www.valleyviewsurrey.ca . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Arlene's memory to the White Rock Hospice Society at www.whiterockhospice.org . (PS. Mom made the best angel food poppy seed cake ever!)
