G Neil Watson Died February 20, 2021, in Halifax, NS Born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, on May 30, 1936 Son of Andrew Laird Watson and Catherine Dorothy (Bell) Watson After moving from the homestead SE 2-10-12 in the early 1940's, Neil lived in St Elmo, Griffin, Hume, Osage, and later Regina. Neil joined the Hudson's Bay Company after attending Luther College and Balfour Tech, working in Uranium City and Fort Chipewyan, before joining the RCAF in 1956. Neil served in the RCAF for 28 years, retiring from the forces with his family to Nova Scotia, in 1984. He later worked at CFB Halifax, at Commfac Marcom and FCC (later IDN) until 1998. Neil enjoyed living in many places during his employment, and was stationed at Clinton, Trenton, Whitehorse, Greenwood, Debert, Ramstein Germany, Portage la Prairie, and Penhold. Neil is survived by his three children, Duane (Lori), Valerie (Glen) and Kevin (Tina). He was predeceased by his wife Margaret (Canavan ) Watson in 1992. Cremation will take place and a private family ceremony will be in Riverbank Cemetery in Hantsport, Nova Scotia, next to Margaret, at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of JA Snow Funeral Home, Halifax. Online condolences can be directed to dignitymemorial.com , under George Neil Watson. He loved to give his grandkids some spare change, funny money he'd call it, sending them into the Dollar store to "go wild". He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.
