In memory of
Ellen Medve
At 60 yrs, Ellen danced into heaven at home surrounded by her family. Her passions were her devoted husband, Paul, children Theo, Victoria and late infant Chloe. Loving daughter of Phyllis Keenan and late Edward Batorski, survived by siblings Janice Ykema, Cheryl Bradley (Scott) brother Robert Kinnee (Margo) plus many treasured nieces/nephews. Ellen loved curling, gourmet cooking, bicycling, travel, supporting the underdog and gardening. She lit up any room with her vibrancy and kept all laughing. She tried to ignore then accepted ALS, a disease that caused 5 years of unrelenting decline, robbing her of all physical function but not mind and spirit. Through this horrible illness she found joy being closer to Jesus. Ellen wished to be cremated since she "couldn't settle on an outfit or do a thing with her hair." A fireworks celebration of life to be announced at a later date. Ellen thanks all whose care and love allowed her to remain at home despite challenges. If wishing to donate in Ellen's memory, please consider ALS Society of Canada. Donations can be mailed to Jason Smith Funeral Chapel, 689 Norfolk St. N. Simcoe, N3Y 3R3.
