In memory of
JUDITH DINNICK (née McClaskey) January 28 1940 - January 31, 2021 Judy passed away peacefully on January 31 from Covid-19, with her family by her side. Cherished mother of Lisa (James Brenzel), Peter, and Christopher (Tangerine Curry) and much-loved grandmother of Max, Roslyn and Zoe Brenzel, Christopher and Charlie Dinnick and Thatcher and Meadow Dinnick. A graduate of the Ontario College of Art, Judy had a lifelong passion for the decorative arts and unmeasurable talents creating trompe l'oeil finishes, murals, painted toleware and furniture; grisaille, smocked dresses, print rooms, candle shades, needlepoint canvases and miniature shadow boxes. For the past two decades, she was celebrated as one of the foremost creators of Sailors' Valentines, winning countless awards and accolades for her intricate shell art and enjoying the wonderful community of shell artists in Sanibel and around the world. Judy was born in Saskatoon to Joan and Angus McClaskey, and raised in Don Mills. She married Michael Dinnick in 1962 and after moving with her young family to Lyford Cay in Nassau she continued her creative pursuits while raising her children and making lifelong friends who will dearly miss her. She was selflessly devoted to her children and grandchildren and celebrated every milestone with pure joy. We will endeavour to carry her selfless spirit with us always. A celebration of life will take place when Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.
