EICHNER, Edith (Artist) April 28, 1928 - January 18, 2015 Edith peacefully took her last breath at the age of 86 surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her devoted husband Heinrich Eichner (Artist), mother and father Else and Oscar Schmerbauch and eldest brother Siegfried Schmebauch. Edith will forever be remembered and loved by her family; children Herbie, Matthew and Susie Eichner, Barbara (Larry) Misho, Gabrielle (John Bushby) Cleary; grandchildren, Jeremy (Kim) Cleary, Suzy, Leala and Jennifer Cleary; great- grandchildren Hayden, Donnie and Renee. Edith earned the Alberta Art Achievement Award - Excellence in Art Education in 1986. In 2002, her biography was entered into Allegemeines Kuenstler Lexicon of Artists of the World and she received the Salute to Excellence-Art Award from the City of Edmonton. Edith's volunteer accomplishments are equally or more important to Edith as her professional accomplishments. One of her favorite memories was marching with the Jewish people of Edmonton upholding their dignity and honor. Always an open door for the poor and to help others in their spiritual journey. Edith will be honoured at the following: Viewing: Sunday, January 25, 1:00-4:00 p.m. Glenwood Funeral Home. Celebration of Life: Tuesday, January 27, 11:00 a.m. Abundant Life Church (7676 Wagner Rd Edmonton) Interment: Tuesday January 27, at 2:30 p.m. at Glenwood Memorial Gardens, South of Wye Road on Range Road 232, Sherwood Park. In lieu of flowers, Edith requested donations to the Missionary Work of Susie Eichner in Slave Lake Alberta and the North care of Abundant Life Church.
