BURNESS, William Henry William Henry Burness, 89 of Sherwood Park, Alberta, passed away smiling, Saturday April 8, 2017 at home, as he wished surrounded by his loving family. He died from metastatic cancer. Bill was a man of incredible integrity, humility and honour. He always had a helping hand, hug and warm laugh for others. Bill is survived by his darling wife of 35 years, Aileen Margarite Burness. His four birth children, Margaret Lampitt, Connie Burness, William G. (Linda) Burness, Bonnie Florkowsky and six step- children, Laurie Kellogg, John Ball, Michael Ball, Meegan Ball, Jacinta (Stephen) Ball, and Patrick Ball. Grandchildren, Mark Lampitt, Susan (Andrew) Howse, Thomas Lampitt, Rachel (Ian) Kellogg, Ethan (Chantelle) Kortbeek, Lucas Kortbeek, Josh Florkowsky, Jordan (Carling) Kortbeek, James Kortbeek, Alana-Marie Florkowsky, Kiana Geary, and Jaden Geary; great- grandchildren, Stephen Howse, Caleb Howse, Matthew Howse, Odin Kellogg, Olin Kortbeek, and Elsa Kortbeek. He was predeceased by his first wife, M. Marie Burness. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home, South of Wye Road on Range Road 232, Sherwood Park. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so the hour prior to the service. In lieu of floral tributes, donations in memory of Bill may be made to the Schizophrenia Society of Alberta, Edmonton & Area Branch. Bill died like he lived, steady, smiling and silent.
