Edward A. "Ed" SHUPENIA
December 3, 1932 – October 15, 2016 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear brother, uncle, and friend, Edward, on October 15, 2016, at the age of 83 years. Ed is survived by his sister, Verna Hochachka; his brother, Andrew; as well as one brother-in-law, and numerous sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, god-children, relatives, and friends. Predeceased by his wife, Ollie on October 14, 2009; both parents, Achtemiy and Domnika; infant sister, Mary; brothers, Mack, John and William; and cousin, John W. Rechlo. Ed will be fondly remembered for his dedication to the public service, his kindness towards his family and friends and his great love of all sports. Prayer Service Friday, October 21 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, 10825 – 97 Street, Edmonton. Divine Liturgy Saturday, October 22 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral. Reverend Jim Nakonechny and Eparchial Clergy officiating with interment in St. Michael's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Elves Special Needs Society, 10825 – 142 Street, Edmonton, AB T5N 3Y7, memorial Divine Liturgies, or to a charity of one's choice.
