In memory of
Brian VAN SNELLENBERG
VAN SNELLENBERG, Brian August 4, 1941 - October 1, 2016 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband (Schnooky), father, brother, uncle and grandfather (Papa), Brian. Born in Vancouver and educated at Magee, University of British Columbia and University of Western Ontario, Brian's career as a mechanical engineer and business manager saw him through many interesting jobs across Canada and overseas. Devoted to his wife Maria, children Michael (Elizabeth), Sarah (Tim) and Nicholas (Carrie), and his six wonderful grandchildren (Charlie, Tessa, Rowan, Henrik, Lucy and Eliot), family was the source of his greatest happiness in life. Brian will also be dearly missed by his sister Rita (Dale), niece and nephew, and many cousins. A love of nature and an artistic eye made Brian a thoughtful, skilled photographer with a knack for capturing moments of beauty. In retirement, he and Maria enjoyed exploring the Pacific Northwest in the sanctuary of their little Escape trailer, Ladybug. Sustained by a deep faith, Brian felt surrounded and uplifted by the love, concern and prayers of family and many friends throughout his two years living with cancer. He was a loving, gentle soul and will be deeply missed. A celebration of life will be held at First Baptist Church at Burrard and Nelson on October 23 at 2 p.m. Donations to the Vancouver Hospice Society in Brian's memory will be gratefully accepted.
