In memory of
Marguerite Ste. Marie
Marguerite Ste. Marie nee Baudry passed away peacefully in her sleep October 12, 2016 surrounded by loving family. Marguerite was born September 4, 1925 in St. Boniface, Manitoba. On June 29, 1946, on what she said was the happiest day of her life, Marguerite married George Ste. Marie. In 1959 George and Marguerite moved with their children from St. Boniface to build their life in Fort William. Marguerite was predeceased by her husband George in 2014. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Kathleen Baudry, granddaughter Genevieve Perrier and great grandsons Tanner Perrier and Cody Perrier. Marguerite is survived by her brother, Father Raymond Baudry, her seven children Suzanne (Leonard Peterson), Jeannine (Larry Perrier), Monique (Tom Pape), Madeleine (Darrell Traer), Angèle (Patrick Klug), Paul (Sylvie Gagnon), Denise (David Styan). 28 grandchildren, and 43 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Annette, Cecile, Brothers in Law Fred (Irma) and Emile (Emily). Family, home and hearth was very important to Marguerite and George. Marguerite loved children, particularly babies. Her home was always welcoming. It was customary to have an extra place setting or two, joining the family at the dinner table. She and George were joined at the hip. When asked of their secret to a long marriage of 68 years, they would always retort that they prayed together. Their faith took center stage in raising a family and working within their community. Marguerite's passion was her life time commitment to service within her community and her church. She volunteered for numerous organizations throughout her life. For over 40 years she dedicated her loving attention to the elderly at Grandview, her involvement with Wesway for over 30 years in which she and George received the Volunteer Award. For over 40 years she met regularly with her beloved friends, originally from Cursillo, where they shared in prayer, service, love, tears, and laughter. Marguerite is now celebrating, with the love of her life, George, her beloved parents and all the family and friends who have been waiting for her arrival. The Festival of Family and Friends in Paradise! Visitation will take place Thursday, October 20th, 6pm at Jenkens Funeral Home, 226 S. Syndicate Ave., with prayers at 6:30pm.
